About Tallahassee, Florida

Tallahassee, Florida has remained the state capital since 1832. Before WWII Tallahassee was still a small town with its main employers being city government and education. Tallahassee is now one of the fastest growing high tech and manufacturing economies.

There are many historic attractions such as the 1884 Paxton House Museum and Inn, Calhoun Street Historic District, and the John G. Riley Center of African History and Culture to name a few. There is also The Capitol and the Historic Capitol of Florida. Florida State University and Florida A&M University also call Tallahassee their home.

Springtime Tallahassee and All American Rally in Tally are annually celebrated. Tallahassee also enjoys the Tallahassee Pro Rodeo, Florida State University Arts Festival, the Scottish Highland Games and Celtic Festival plus the Hispanic Festival.

Tallahassee has a number of outdoor parks, lakes and forests. There is something for everybody. Tallahassee is well known for its eco-friendly tourism. And don’t forget, even though Tallahassee is land locked, beaches are just a short drive away.
